Cold food

Cold food ships every Wednesday from our pits in Arlington, Texas, so it never sits over a weekend. Wednesday is the one shipping day each week: an order placed on a Wednesday goes out the following Wednesday, which gives the pit time to smoke it for your box rather than pull it off the counter. Everything is packed cold with ice packs in an insulated box. It may thaw in transit; refrigerate it as soon as it arrives. Brisket, turkey breast and pork shoulder keep refrigerated up to 5 days or frozen up to 3 months; ribs, burnt ends and sausage keep refrigerated 3 to 4 days or frozen 2 to 3 months.

We cannot ship cold food to P.O. boxes, APO or FPO addresses.

  • Orders of $199 and up ship free: cold food anywhere in the lower 48, and sauces, rubs, pistachios, the cookbook and merch anywhere in the US.
  • Cold food under $199 to Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Louisiana, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, New Mexico, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Wisconsin, Wyoming: UPS Ground, 1 to 2 days. $14 up to 5 lb, $18 up to 10 lb, $20 up to 15 lb, $24 up to 20 lb, $28 over 20 lb.
  • Cold food under $199 to every other state in the lower 48: UPS 2nd Day Air. $45 up to 10 lb, $57 up to 15 lb, $72 up to 20 lb, $98 over 20 lb.
  • Cold food to Alaska and Hawaii, on every order: UPS 2nd Day Air. $76 up to 10 lb, $94 up to 15 lb, $116 up to 20 lb, $152 over 20 lb.
  • Sauces, rubs, pistachios, the cookbook and merch under $199: USPS Ground Advantage. $9 up to 3 lb, $14 up to 19 lb, $29 over 19 lb. These ship any weekday.
  • Box weight is the shipping weight of what is in the box; the cooler and ice packs are already priced in. Cold food and pantry items ship in separate boxes, so an order with both pays each rate until it reaches the free line.

Tracking and address changes

You get an email with the tracking number the moment your label prints. If the address on your confirmation is wrong, reply to it or email support@hurtadobbq.com before the order ships; we cannot redirect a cold box once it is with the carrier.
